School’s out for the summer and that means tons of great movies coming to theaters! Transformers: Age of Extinction is the biggest release of this weekend, starring an all new cast that includes Mark Wahlberg. In this new installment, Autobots and Decepticons have gone into hiding, but when auto mechanic Cade Yeager (Wahlberg) hauls home an old truck, it turns out to be none other than Optimus Prime! Battles ensue. It’s being offered in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D in wide release across Canada. Click here for showtimes. Opening in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary is They Came Together, starring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler. A spoof of romantic comedies, it’s filled with clichés and groan-out-loud moments. Also debuting in limited release is The Breakup Guru, showing in Toronto and Vancouver. In Chinese with Mandarin and English subtitles, it’s a slapstick comedy about a man who, if you want to end your relationship but don’t have the cojones to do it yourself, will do the breaking up for you. The only problem is, the woman he tries to break up with won’t cooperate, which puts his reputation as a breakup guru in serious danger. Click here for showtimes. Happy Canada Day weekend movie viewing and check back next week for a new crop of awesome releases, including the comedy Tammy starring Melissa McCarthy and a new movie your kids are going to love called Earth to Echo! ~Alexandra Heilbron
