Transformers stuntman found dead in hotel room

Shawn Robinson, a Hollywood stuntman, was found dead in his hotel room in New Orleans last week. He was filming Peter Berg’s new film Deepwater Horizon and when he failed to show up for work on July 28, another stuntman working on the film went to his apartment to find Shawn had passed away.
There is no official cause of death for now as the Orleans medical office is waiting on the results of a toxicology report. Shawn specialized in rigging equipment so that stunts could be performed safely. His career spanned over 25 years and he has worked on over 70 films, making a huge impact on the movie community. His works included Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the first three Transformers movies, War of the Worlds, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Old School, Behind Enemy Lines and many more.
T.J. White, a stuntman who had worked with Shawn in the past, said, “The whole stunt community is in shock, he touched the lives of hundreds of stunt performers across the country. He was an amazing stunt rigger and worked on some of the biggest shows in town and was responsible for the safety of hundreds of stuntmen and women. He was a very likeable guy who always had a smile on his face. This is tragic.”

The Jungle Book is continuing its march toward Oscar gold with a whopping five wins at the 2017 Visual Effects Society Awards. The ceremony took place in California.
The people behind the scenes don’t get recognized enough for the work they put into the movie. I wonder what happened to him.
You never really know a person, unless you are part of their personal life. Even then “some waters run very deep”. None the less, it is tragic.
Sadly, not only do they not get enough recognition (forgive my ignorance, but is there an “Oscar for stuntwork?) but whereas everyone thinks they are well payed, huh! Not enough when you consider they risk their lives in a great percentage of movie-making! R I P
25 years and 70 films and he does not own a home he has to rent an apartment? compare that to the many spoil brats with no talent that make millions and waste money on stupid things who think they own Hollywood and all of LA. smdh.
I can see your confusion Real Deal. In one place the article says he died in a hotel room and in another place it says “apartment.” I assumed the apartment was a mistake. I would guess that a Hollywood stuntman would live in the LA area and he was staying in a hotel while filming on location in New Orleans, so we can’t be sure where he lived. Still, very sad to hear. Prayers and thoughts to his friends and family.
