The ugly custody battle between R&B singer Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster has finally come to an end, with Usher being granted primary custody of their two sons, four-year-old Usher Raymond V and three-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond. This ruling comes as a surprise as it is somewhat uncommon to see the father gaining custody over the mother. It is also particularly heartbreaking as Foster is still mourning the loss of her 11-year-old son Kyle Glover, who died from injuries he sustained after a tragic jet-ski accident in July. During their divorce, Foster accused the singer of putting his career before his family, making him unable to be a good father, and claimed he used drugs in the presence of their kids. Usher was also held in contempt of court for cancelling Foster’s Saks Fifth Avenue credit card. Foster argued that she needed it in order to “fulfill her duties as a stylist,” so Usher was ordered to reinstate the card. However, despite all this, Usher has won custody of his kids. Let’s hope it was the right decision. Arrangement details for the children have not yet been released. ~Isabelle Khoo
