Val Kilmer accused of being a deadbeat dad after failing to pay child support

Val Kilmer, 51, has to appear in court after being accused by his ex-wife, actress Joanne Whalley, of falling behind in his child support payments. Whalley and Kilmer were married in 1988 but split in 1995 when she made a surprise visit to see him on the set of Batman Forever and found him having an affair with Drew Barrymore. The couple share two children, Mercedes, 19, and Jack, 16. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kilmer is supposed to pay $27,500 a month for child support. Kilmer, who was at the height of his stardom in the 1990s, has found it more difficult to find parts as he gained an excessive amount of weight, essentially putting him out of the running for the romantic lead roles he’d been playing. Whalley has obtained a lien against his New Mexico ranch until he can bring the payments up to date. This isn’t the first time Kilmer has gotten behind in the payments — in 2007, Whalley also had to take legal action in an effort to get him to pay up.

He is so nasty. But I think it’s pretty funny that karma bit him in the ass!

It says 1988 not 1998, but really he does look terrible. He sure has fallen from his Batman days

This is just a thought, and I’m not trying to be rude, but maybe at some point, people’s looks match how they are inside? Sort of like Dorian Grey? Val was gorgeous in his 20s, but maybe he’s not a good person (probably not if he was cheating on his wife with whom he had 2 small children) and now his outside matches his inside. Ditto Alec Baldwin and Mel Gibson. And Charlie Sheen seems to be going along the same lines.

I’ve been noticing that he’s let himself go, unfortunately! At his age he should get himself in shape. Extra fat doesn’t bode well in your body, when you get older. But it also takes into account how well you’ve taken care of yourself through the years too!

Look at any fifty years old you’ll see the same. I think he put on the pounds for some part and it stuck. Never did like him knew lot of people who emulated him. Something “genius” is where I first saw him. Yup, except for the Doors thats pretty much all I remember of him. But thats true for all actors/actresses really, who cares.

Drew Barrymore? I have never heard this rumor before. Wow what a tramp Drew is. I mean. I heard she was a skank, but this guy had kids and a wife at that time.
