Whoopi GoldbergWhoopi Goldberg has returned to The View following the death of her brother.

The presenter’s older sibling Clyde Johnson died from a brain aneurysm last Monday (05.11.15) and after taking some time off to grieve for him she made her return to TV on Tuesday. She thanked everyone for their messages of support, saying, ”Thank you for all of the outpouring of sympathy.”

In a moving tribute to her brother – who was 65 when he passed away – she added: ”My brother Clyde was an amazing cat. He was the funny one of the family … He and my mother together were insane.”

Co-host Rosie Perez expressed her sympathy and gave Whoopi a warm welcome back.

She said: ”We are all so dearly sorry for your loss and to your family … but I just want to make a statement here. You are truly the captain of this ship and we missed you.”

Whoopi, 59, also revealed she is considering scattering Clyde’s ashes at his favorite place – Disneyland.

The actress scattered her late mother Emma Johnson’s remains at the theme park in California, and she is sure Clyde would want the same fate.

Unveiling a photograph of her and Clyde at Disneyland, she shared: ”This was at my mother’s memorial, because she loved Disneyland… We were on the Small World (ride) … she’s in the flowers. So something similar may be in the mix.”

Whoopi also paid tribute to the ”wonderful” mortuary she used to deal with the funeral arrangements and dedicated the show to her brother, saying: ”This is for you, big C.J.”
