Zoe Saldana’s post-Avatar breakdown

By Alexandra Heilbron on August 9, 2011 | 6 Comments

Zoe Saldana has admitted that she had a breakdown after filming Avatar. The movie made her a star, and the pressure built up until she felt she could no longer handle it. She told Latina magazine: “The year after Avatar was just emotionally overwhelming. I was travelling all over the world, waking up in different time zones. Your body gets exhausted and by the end of the year I just collapsed.” She goes on to say that while filming Colombiana last summer, she still felt the stress. “I was sitting in my hotel room and I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t stay awake. I must have slept for an entire month.” Zoe told Total Film last month that being in so many action films over the past couple of years has also taken a toll on her. “I always go home looking like a map. That’s what my mom tells me because I have black and blue all over the place… With Avatar I was fine; I’d get hurt, I’d get up, I’d brush it off and keep going. But my body feels like it’s aged ten years. It can’t reboot as quickly.” Colombiana hit theaters August 26th.

I get the exhaustion stuff, but when you’re making that kind of money, you shouldn’t really be complaining. A few movies and she could retire for life and sleep all the time. No??

LOL what a joke! So many people in this world working slave hours, being paid peanuts and not being paid for overtime and she is feeling sorry for herself? Oh please! No sympathy here Missy!

I hate jet lag I feel her pain always feeling so tired and wanting to sleep all the time trying to stay awake is hard and takes awhile to recover. She’s an awesome action star love her holding a gun. Avatar was amazing she’s come along way from Crossroads with Britney Spears that movie was a joke lol
