Zooey Deschanel is engaged

Zooey Deschanel is engaged to Jacob Pechenik. The New Girl star, who recently confirmed she is expecting her first child this summer, is planning to tie the knot with the 42-year-old producer after five months of dating.

A spokesperson for the couple, who started dating last August following the brunette beauty’s split from screenwriter Jamie Linden after two years of dating, confirmed the news to Us Weekly.

The 35-year-old actress was previously married to Death Cab for Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard for three years until 2012. Following their divorce, she insisted she still believed in true love, but admitted she wanted to find someone more like herself.

She said: ”My parents have been married for 40 years and my grandparents were married for 70 years. I come from a long line of true loves. I’d be more likely to go for somebody who is like me. Well, I like creative people, so whatever that means… Yeah, authentic and creative.”

Zooey recently confessed she can’t wait to become a mother for the first time. She said: ”Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.”
The raven-haired beauty is likely to swap pregnancy tips with her sister Emily Deschanel, as the 38-year-old actress is expecting her second child with her actor husband David Hornsby.
