Is Emma Watson the new Disney damsel?

By Tribute on March 3, 2013 | 6 Comments

Emma Watson has been tipped to play the lead in the live-action Disney remake of Cinderella. Kenneth Branagh, the acclaimed director of Thor and As You Like It, is set to direct this fairy-tale redo, which will hit theaters in 2014. Actress Cate Blanchett has already signed to play the evil stepmother. Other young actresses such as Saoirse Ronan and Imogen Poots were previously linked to the project, but it’s still uncertain which of these ladies will get the title. Hollywood is no stranger to fairy tale remakes, as over the past year we’ve witnessed Mirror Mirror and Snow White & The Huntsman, which made good box office returns. Watson has completed a role in The Bling Ring, a movie by director Sofia Coppola about the infamous group of teens that made headlines after burglarizing the homes of several celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

Check your facts! Branagh didn’t direct EITHER of the films you credit him for here, and what’s more, Watson would make a lousy Cinderella!!!

You’re right, Kenneth Branagh didn’t direct either of the films, but he did star in them. He was also Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets, so he’s worked with Emma. And I disagree, I believe Emma would make a great Cinderella!

She would be a lovely Cinderella. She was my favourite actor in the Harry Potter films.
