Jude Law’s a dad again

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 24, 2009 | 10 Comments

jude_law_nycSamantha Burke, the 24-year-old cocktail waitress who had a brief fling with Jude Law last year, has given birth to his child, a 5 pound, 12 ounce baby girl. Burke’s publicist Eileen Koch told People.com: “Samantha is overwhelmed with joy at the arrival of her beautiful and healthy baby girl, Sophia on Tuesday night. The baby and mom are doing wonderful.” Law is currently playing Hamlet on Broadway at New York’s Broadhurst Theater. He has three children – Rafferty, 12, Iris, 8, and Rudy, 6 – with ex-wife Sadie Frost. Burke, who has sold her story and photos of Sophia to a magazine, denies on her personal blog that she’s a gold digger. “I didn’t choose to publish the story of my pregnancy,” she wrote last month. “Not once did I ever think about the money side of things.”

“Not once did I ever think about the money side of things.”

Uh…yeah…riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! If THAT were the case and she just wanted to tell “her story” and have Sophia’s photos in a mag., she would have just done it for free. So obviously, at one point at least, the money side of things DID cross her mind because she would have had to sign a contract saying she would receive ‘X’ amount of $ for both her story and ‘X’ amount of baby photos and that she wouldn’t provide such to anyone else. It’s one thing to do this (and I don’t believe that she should have) but at least don’t frigging lie about it.

i wonder if jude can fight for half of the money for the pics and the story because its HIS baby and HE is a part of the story? i think he should try, it would make me laugh. im surprised she already had the baby!! i didnt realize it was soo close! i thought, with the last article, that she was only like 4-5 months along.

I heartily Agree with you all. Nancy, just after I read the article, I thought the same thing you wrote for your comment. Theres So Many People Concerned with their Privacy and she sells her own flesh and blood BABY out for a piece of paper. No doubt she’ll lie to her as she grows up(changing the story line), saying to her that she needed the $$$ to survive and raise her. I’d be tempted to do the same thing so that then I’d have money to stay home and raise her. BUT, I would NEVER Do such a thing, Ever!!! Some things you just Don’t Do! Period.

I read today that he paid for all expenses to do with the birth, and plans on having a paternity test done. If it isn’t his, then the expenses already paid are a “gift”, if it is his, then he said he will do the responsible thing. But apparently he does not want to meet the baby until he finds out if it is his or not. What a noble guy.
