Kate Winslet names her son Bear

Kate Winslet has named her son Bear. The Labor Day actress and her husband Ned Rocknroll have decided to give their first child together the unusual animal-inspired moniker, a spokesperson has confirmed. A source told The Sun: ''They are all doing so well, they both absolutely adore him - and the name Bear.'' Kate - who also has a 10-year-old son, Joe, with her ex-husband, Sam Mendes, and a daughter Mia, 13, with her ex-husband Jim Threapleton - is currently taking a break from the limelight to look after the two-week-old baby at home in West Sussex, England. It comes as no surprise that the couple, who tied the knot in a secret New York City ceremony in December 2012, have chosen an original name like Bear, since businessman Ned famously changed his own from Abel Smith in 2008. They aren't the first to name their child after the large furry mammal, however, since celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's son was christened Buddy Bear three years ago.

Do these folks not take into account how their children will be teased at school and other social gatherings? What ever happened to Jack, Ben, Thomas etc….for crying out loud!!

What’s the big deal? It’s an unusual name, but it’s a cute one and it’s been done before. It’s not like she named her baby after an object or a fruit. Bear sounds like a cozy nickname.

I agree with Chris. Kate could of gave her son a better name. What about Kyle,Sean,Alex, and Scott. Those are better names. What if Kate son bear goes to school and the kids make fun of his name. It will be so embarrasing.

I don’t think any of you have taken into account that this is Kate Winslet’s son … It is highly unlikely in my opinion that he will be teased for ANYTHING.
