Madonna banned from radio station over ‘un-American sentiments’

Madonna banned by radio station after controversial speech

A Texas radio station has some words to share with the Material Girl: Papa Madonna, don’t preach.

Following her controversial speech during Women’s March on Washington, Texarkana’s HITS 105 took to Facebook to inform its listeners that they’re turning the volume all the way down on Madonna’s music.

Terry Thomas, the radio station’s General Manager, issued a statement describing why songs by the 58-year-old Queen of Pop would be “indefinitely” banned.

The statement reads, “Banning all Madonna songs at HITS 105 is not a matter of politics, it’s a matter of patriotism. It just feels wrong to us to be playing Madonna songs and paying her royalties when the artist has shown un-American sentiments. If all stations playing Madonna took their lead from us, that would send a powerful economic message to Madonna.”

Those “un-American sentiments” were demonstrated during the “Vogue” singer’s speech last Saturday (Jan. 21) at the Women’s March on Washington event. Aside from dropping several “f-bombs,” HITS 105 took issue with these particular sentences: “Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”

The Texarkana radio station wasn’t the only outlet agitated by Madonna’s words. Conservative websites and Donald Trump‘s administration were vocal about their disapproval, and in response to the outcry, the multi-Grammy winner clarified her stance on Instagram.

She wrote, “I am not a violent person, I do not promote violence and it’s important people hear and understand my speech in its entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context … the only way to change things for the better is to do it with love.”

What are your thoughts on Madonna’s speech and the radio station’s choice to ban her music? Did she cross a line by talking about “blowing up the White House” or are people taking her words too seriously? Let us know. ~Matthew Pariselli

The radio station is taking it out of context themselves. She openly said she THOUGHT about blowing up the White House. To me that means she is just letting troubled people know that even celebs get the same thoughts. BUT on the other hand she says change things with love. Sheesh way to go overboard. On the other hand, Madonna’s songs are crap so who cares if they aren’t played anymore and she has more money than God, so I’m sure she won’t miss one station’s 0.01 royalty.

Sorry – openly promoting violence – even if she retracted and tried to put a different spin on it – is still not acceptab;le. Especially from this old skank.
She has been using her sexuality to promote herslef for years-even though it is just vulgar. Showing up at a feminist protest, is just hypocritical on her prt.

Lol, I guess you have to be President Elect to openly suggest violent or Unpatriotic things at Rallies.

Madonna is just being Madonna, we should all know her by now. She’s not serious. This whole thing is ridiculous and people just need to get over themselves.

She’s an embarrassment to her kids . I think she’s delusional and needs professional help .
The vile stuff that she spews . She’s vulgar and she’s trying to cover herself . You don’t threaten to blow up the White House in public whether it was unintentional or not .
    My opinion .
She should have been arrested .

Madonna just said what everyone is thinking. Did everyone watch the assassination….inaugeration? LOL.
You know it’s going to happen, unless he deports everyone against him, it’s just a matter of time and the only way to correct a very stupid mistake.

I find it strange that trumpers would be so upset ,they promoted violence during the whole world comedy of the election, world still laughing. Texas radio station ,isn’t this where they teach in school that the earth is only 10,000 years old lol.

Yes, she crossed the line. But didn’t Trump cross the line many times.
    Quotes from Trump:
“Obama is the CEO of Isis, Hilary should be Jailed, if I don’t win the election there may be riots” On and on with that crap. And no one objected.

What a load of crap! If this was a famous male star, we would not be having this discussion at all never mind banning his music.

I wish more radio stations would do the same thing. What a horrible, horrible role model, mother & citizen. At one point, she didnt even live in the USA. She shows no respect at all for the people around her, especially the children. She just wants attention at every opportunity. She cant sing. She has gotten by parading around in underwear & pointed bras & constantly doing controversial things. What a useless hypocrite! She should get locked up for what she said. I consider that a threat. Time to stay home & grow a brain Madonna.

Funny thing is that individuals like Ted Nugent said similar things about the former President. I guess only conservatives can threaten violence.

Get on with it and accept democracy. The people have voted!!!

Madonna is, well, a disgusting pig. Your getting to old for the sex sells/appeal thing. Looks like fame and the money went to her head. I agree with Mr. Trump, Madonnas comments were unwarranted and truly anti American. Hopefully with any luck, Mr. Trump will deport the old looking retard. I wonder if she remembers telling everyone during Trumps Campaign that ” If Trump wins, I will give everyone a blowjob” well, get sucking lady but not mine as I can find better looking girls/hookers in the slum of some of the local truck stops around where I live. Like all these successful people with fame and fortune, stop with your bullshit political views and using your privileged time to do so or quit your job and run for politics, that is if you can handle it but sensible people already know its unlikely as you and everyone like (idiot Moral Streep (another pig)) you would actually have to work harder and for a whole lot less. Madonna, get SUCKING BABY as that’s probably something you may actually be good at, Yuck!

With all the truly talented singer/song writers out there who have unfortunately passed away over the last year and half, its shitty one of them wasn’t Madonna the PIGLET. Grab a Brain, Grab some Morals, Move to Africa where you can live a better life and just disappear PLEASE!!!!. If I were Mr. Trump, I would lock up your old ass.

Yes ban her music. Musicians and actors alike should stay out of politics and economics or get better educated and obtain factual and professional scientific studies before making any type of public statements. Madonna and this woman’s March was knee jersey reaction irrational movement that did nothing and caused more harm than good. Regardless of whether madonna “thought” about blowing up the white house is reckless an irresponsible. It only takes one mentally unstable person to act upon harming many government officials within.

I grew up with madonna and her entire motivation is to shock and be the Centre of attention. She’s old run down and desperate for any kind of media attention at any cost. She has never been a “healthy” role model for young girls and women. She has no class. I can think of a ton of famous or infamous women that make better role models. And if she cares so much about women why doesn’t she invest more time and money investing in women’s shelters. This would be more effective with positive results

I believe it is high time came forward IN THE TRUTH, and told the world WHO actually wrote most of her tunes.
Donald Marshall will most certainly be honoured for the myriad of songs he penned for “famous” people, who we have all these years thought were written by the artists themselves, ……..what a lot of Bunkum!!

As soon as you understand Kabbalah, as Madonna does, you will get the bigger picture.
I firmly believe Madonna should hand back ALL of her royalties, and concert fees to the people who supported her, and at least pay Donald Marshall FOREVER!!!!!

  21. BlueyBlogger • January 31, 2017 @ 7:31 PM

Not only Madonna, but a warehouse full of supposed “Artists” who have foisted onto the public airways and record bars, many, many, many, many, many pieces of plagiarised music from Donald Marshall, and who have also lived “high on the hog” for years, and never paid tribute to the Ghost Writer of their so-called “original” material.

Forget burning Beatles records…..Burn the Bloody lot I say!
