Fans of Marvel have a lot to be thankful for.
On Thursday evening, Netflix gifted those in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con with an intense teaser trailer for Marvel’s Iron Fist. The series, which will follow Danny Rand’s (Finn Jones) journey from a wealthy New York abode to the ancient city of Kun Lun, is slated to become the fourth major series in the franchise.
Marvel’s Iron Fist will chronicle Danny’s martial arts training and the mystical power he inherits, which allows him to channel his chi into his fist and employ super-human strength. It will depict Danny’s return to New York City after years of being missing, and illustrate his fight against the criminal elements corrupting the city with the use of his fiery Iron Fist.
The teaser showcases snippets of young Danny, and then also features punchy images of a plane crash, the adult version of Danny strapped to a hospital bed against his will and then Danny completely crashing through a concrete wall.
Currently, Netflix is streaming Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and will also run Luke Cage in September and Defenders in 2017.
Marvel’s Iron Fist has been filming this summer, and although a set date hasn’t been announced for its arrival on screens, it’s expected in the early months of 2017.
