Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 casting news

By Alexandra Heilbron on January 9, 2013 | 5 Comments

Director Michael Bay has announced that he’ll have an entirely new cast for Transformers 4 – no more Shia LaBeouf. He’s cast Mark Wahlberg in a starring role and he just announced yesterday that’s he’s cast a virtual unknown as Mark’s co-star.  Alongside this photo, Bay wrote on his blog: “I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal. Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net. This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.” Check out our interview with Jack at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival for What Richard Did.

I hate sequels that do not have the cast from the first one. Sucks…….Not looking forward to it.

The Transformers movies all sucked. No reason to believe a new cast will make them any better. Try having an actual plot.
