Miley Cyrus, 20, will bringing her twerking skills to Saturday Night Live as both a host and performer for the sketch comedy’s 39th season, according to an announcement by NBC. The former Hannah Montana star may have stirred controversy with her raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, but if its 10.1 million rating suggests anything, it’s that she can draw in the big numbers. Yesterday, Miley maintained her position as a popular gossip topic with the release of her new music video for “Wrecking Ball,” which is the second single off her forthcoming album, Bangerz. The video, which has Miley completely nude while swinging seductively on top of a giant ball, received over 15.2 million views within the first 13 hours. It broke One Direction’s previous record with “Best Song Ever” to become Vevo’s most viewed video in a span of 24 hours. Miley’s ratings draw power will once again be put to the test when she makes her SNL debut on October 5. The show’s 39th season premieres a week earlier with host Tina Fey and musical guest Arcade Fire. ~Alfonso Espina

The 2019 Grammys celebrated several women last night! Cardi B, Alicia Keys, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Lady Gaga, Kacey Musgraves and many more were honored.
Makes sense.
Indeed. She deserves to be rewarded for …. ummm… her talent?
Careful, she might show up naked. I understand the appeal of getting someone on the show that is the most talked about singer but the reasons why people talk about her are less appealing.
I know they say there’s no such thing as bad publicity for a singer but I tend to disagree in this case.
People will be tuning in to see what she does, so the ratings will be HUGE. It’s THIS kind of thinking that makes you a celebrity these days.
