People’s Choice Awards 2014: Complete List of Winners

The first set of 2014 movie and entertainment awards kicked off last night with the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards. Sandra Bullock swept away the first set of awards, winning Favorite Comedic Movie Actress for her role in The Heat and Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress for her role in Gravity. Accepting her awards she said: “An actor can’t do what they do without hundreds of amazing people working for them and alongside them. I learned so much this year. I got to work with Melissa McCarthy on The Heat. And on Gravity, the nicest people in the world would string me up and leave me there, and I still had an amazing time.” She also won Favorite Movie Duo alongside her Gravity co-star George Clooney.

Justin Timberlake brought his swagger to the stage as he accepted the awards for Favorite Album of the Year, Favorite Male Artist and Favorite R&B Artist. After a five year gap, he returned to the music arena in 2013 with his “The 20/20 Experience” album and clearly dominated the charts and the music awards last night. Britney Spears won her first People’s Choice Award in her career, taking home the Favorite Pop Artist award. Fans chose The Big Bang Theory as their Favorite TV Network Comedy over Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother. Canadian actresses were also a fan favorite last night — Stana Katic was named Favorite Dramatic TV Actress for her role on Castle and Kristin Kreuk won Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress for Beauty and the Beast.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder shared an adorable moment as they accepted the award for Best On-Screen Chemistry in The Vampire Diaries. The couple were dating in real life and recently broke up. But that didn’t stop them from joking about their relationship status while accepting their award. Nina said, “Then we broke up in real life” while Ian added, “And yet our characters are still dating on the show.” “It’s a good thing it’s not awkward,” Nina explained followed by an awkward silence.
