With its Best Picture win at the Oscars, Moonlight has become the 89th film to claim cinema’s highest accolade. The drama upset La La Land, which experts predicted would reign supreme, and many were left wondering if the right film had been honored.
But there are several Best Picture winners in the Academy’s history book that we can all agree were the most worthy films of their respective years.
