Midnight Cowboy

At the 1970 Academy Awards, Midnight Cowboy beat out other contenders Anne of the Thousand Days, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Hello, Dolly! and Z for Best Picture. The Western drama also won two other Oscars — John Schlesinger won for Best Director and Waldo Salt won for Best Adapted Screenplay.
