Roman Polanski

In March 1977, Roman Polanski attended a party at Jack Nicholson’s house in Los Angeles, where he allegedly drugged and raped 13-year-old Samantha Gailey. He was charged with “rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy, lewd and lascivious act upon a child under fourteen, and furnishing a controlled substance to a minor.” Before his trial, Polanski fled to France, where he remains to this day, refusing to travel abroad to countries that share an extradition agreement with the United States.
