Film festivals often serve as a launch pad for movies that go on to win rave reviews and awards attention. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is a prime example, as many of the titles included in its programs pick up steam and eventually earn recognition on the biggest awards stage in the industry, the Academy Awards.
