On Thursday, Dec. 15, Canadian hunk Ryan Reynolds was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. But the real story to emerge from the event was the presence of his two young daughters.

Prior to the ceremony, the public hadn’t been given access to both girls. That changed when Ryan and his wife of four years, Blake Lively, showed up with their children — 2-year-old James and their second daughter, born in September, whose name they haven’t revealed.

While discussing the choice to bring the whole family, Ryan told Extra the following (which was published by PEOPLE): “This is one of the rare occasions when we thought we got to bring the whole clan. I’d regret it in 20 years if I didn’t.”

The 40-year-old star was comedic and charming while accepting the honor. He said Blake is “everything” to him, and addressed her by saying, “You are the best thing, the best thing that has ever happened to me — second only to this star… You make everything better, absolutely everything in my life better. You’ve made me the father of my dreams when I thought I only had fun uncle potential.”

Ryan made another first earlier this week when he scored a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actor – Musical or Comedy category for his Deadpool performance. To date, the role has won him a Teen Choice Award nomination, and victories at the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards and MTV Movie Awards.

The former Sexiest Man Alive can be seen next in the sci-fi thriller Life, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson. It hits screens in March 2017. ~Matthew Pariselli
