Scarlett Johansson and husband Romain Dauriac

Scarlett Johansson says motherhood is ”exhausting in the most wonderful way.” The 30-year-old actress, who gave birth to her first child, Rose Dorothy, with husband Romain Dauriac in September, approximately one month before the couple secretly wed in Montana, admits she is still learning the ropes, but is smitten with their daughter. Asked about being a mother, she said: ”It’s exhausting in the most wonderful way. I never thought how much sleeping through the night would mean to me. I still lack experience. Right now I’m just trying to manage. You have to first, how should I put it, learn the ropes.”

The Under the Skin star thinks her daughter smells amazing. She told Germany’s Gala magazine: ”She smells sweet, totally. I can’t quite describe it, but it really makes you euphoric.”
Meanwhile, Scarlett, who was previously married to Ryan Reynolds for three years until 2010, thinks communication is the key to a successful relationship. She said: ”I’ve come to the conclusion for myself that a relationship only functions if you communicate well with your partner. Listen to yourself and what you want, and listen to your partner. This is one thing I’ve learned over the years. And I’ve gotten better at it. Love can be difficult, but it’s absolutely worth the effort.”
