Steven Seagal sued for puppy death

While filming his new reality show, Steven Seagal: Lawman, Steven Seagal and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department raided a home in Laveen, Arizona on suspicion that the home owner was raising roosters for illegal cockfights. They found over 100 birds in cages and rather than rescuing them, killed every single one. The owner, Jesus Sanchez Llovera, alleges in a notice of claim that not only were the birds being raised for show, but that his puppy was shot and killed during the raid. He said Seagal arrived at his home in a tank, rammed in the gate to his property and did “substantial damage” both inside the home and around it. He’s suing for $100,000 in damages and wants a formal written apology from Seagal to his children “for the death of their 11-month old puppy, a beloved family pet.” A member of the Sheriff’s Department denies that a puppy was shot, but does not deny the other damages, which are documented not only on video for Seagal’s new series, but in photographs taken by Mr. Sanchez Llovera himself.
