Stranger Things kids steal show at New York’s Elsie Fest

Stranger Things kids outshine performers at New York's Elsie Fest

The Stranger Things kids can’t be taken anywhere, at least not without outshining everyone in attendance.

For Labor Day, actors Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin — who play Dustin and Lucas in the hit sci-fi series, respectively — showed off some of their other skills while at Elsie Fest. Hosted on New York’s Coney Island, the one-day outdoor event is a celebration of music and the arts.

Glee‘s Darren Criss created the event last year and was in fine form this year. Joining him and the Stranger Things breakouts was Tony-nominated actress Megan Hilty; Tituss Burgess of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt; Hedwig and the Angry Inch star Lena Hall; RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race judge and star of the upcoming Kinky Boots Todrick Hall; and Corey Cott of Newsies.

Held at the Ford Amphitheater, the celebrities in attendance sang their favorite show tunes and also took part in meet-and-greets with fans.

Check out a few performances uploaded to YouTube (including a great cover of “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” by Darren, Caleb, and Caleb’s younger sister!), as well as some posts from the stars’ Instagram pages.

Is there anything these Stranger Things kids can’t do? Let us know what you think!

I think I’m the only person left on earth who hasn’t watched Stranger Things

The kids are amazing. And clearly I need to learn more about Corey Cott.

Rice – you need to watch it! I wasn’t sure – not a huge Winona Ryder fan, but the kids are amazing and you get totally hooked – I watched the entire first season with my 19 year old daughter in a day – couldn’t stop watching
