Zooey Deschanel separates from Death Cab for Cutie husband

Zooey Deschanel, 31, whose new Fox TV show New Girl is one of the season’s hits, has filed for separation from her husband, Ben Gibbard, 35, frontman for the indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie. They married in September 2009. Deschanel is also a singer/musician, who recently sang the national anthem during the World Series. Her band, She & Him, also just released a Christmas album, “A Very She & Him Christmas.” Recently, Deschanel spoke to iVillage about the difficulties being married to a musician, saying it was ‘definitely hard’ being apart from him while he was on tour, adding that it takes work to make a marriage last. “It’s not like you get married and then all the work is done for you. You get married and you’re still in a relationship and you’re still doing your best to make it the best relationship you can…You still have to make the effort and be kind and understanding. It sort of just solidifies your commitment.”

Andrea…you mustn’t always assume it was the male who cheated. It is just as likely that the woman cheated after all she may not have been touring but she was and in involved in filming closely with other men and attending ‘Events’. Its a shame because I like Deschanel I wish her all the best.
