January Jones Biography

JANUARY JONES

Date of Birth: January 5, 1978

Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, one of January Jones' first jobs as a teenager was working behind the counter at Dairy Queen. She then broke into modeling in New York, and after making the move to Los Angeles, the blonde beauty soon made her acting debut with a small role in the independent film All The Rage (1999), starring Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin, followed by a guest appearance on an episode of the Fox TV series Get Real (1999). She played another small role in her first major motion picture, The Glass House (2001), starring Leelee Sobieski. Jones landed a slightly larger part in the crime comedy Bandits (2001) starring Bruce Willis, then managed a lead in the independent film Taboo (2002), opposite Nick Stahl.

Next up was Full Frontal (2002), which boasted an all-star cast including Julia Roberts and David Duchovny, followed by a larger role as a porn actress in Anger Management (2003), starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson. Audiences began to take notice of the rising star when she played Cadence, Michelle's beautiful sister/Maid of Honor in American Wedding (2003). Fast becoming a sought after actress, Jones quickly landed roles in Love Actually (2003), starring Hugh Grant and Liam Neeson, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004), starring fellow hot young Hollywood actors Jonathan Jackson and Mika Boorem.

Jones dated Ashton Kutcher from 1998 to 2001 and comedian Jim Carrey in 2002. For her starring role in the Hallmark telefilm Love's Enduring Promise she won a 2005 Camie Award. In 2009 she received a Golden Globe nomination for her starring role as Betty Draper on the hit series Mad Men.
