Michael Rosenbaum Biography

MICHAEL ROSENBAUM

Date of Birth: July 11, 1972

Hailing from Long Island, New York, Rosenbaum spent most of his youth in Indiana where he first tried out his acting skills in the stage play, The Heidi Chronicles. He attended Western Kentucky University to study mass communications and theater, and during his summers he continued to perform in regional theater.

Following graduation, Rosenbaum moved back to the Big Apple to find work in television. After working in sketch comedy on Late Night with Conan O' Brien he found work on Tom Arnold's short lived sitcom, The Tom Show.

Despite poor ratings, the show provided a spring board for Rosenbaum, who landed a number of roles in feature films like Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), 1999 (1998), and a co-starring role in urban legend (1998). In 1999 he returned to television with a regular starring gig on the teen series, Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane, playing Jack Cooper. He went on to voice characters in the popular animated series Batman Beyond.

At the turn of the century, his career skyrocketed with projects coming at him from all angles. Following a major role in the feature, Sweet November (2001), he won the role of Lex Luthor in the popular series, Smallville. More animation work followed in the series, Justice League, voicing the character The Flash, and a co-starring role in the comedy Sorority Boys (2002).

Living in Los Angeles, Rosenbaum spends his off time playing ice hockey and cheering on his favorite hockey team, the New York Rangers.
