Abigail Breslin Biography

ABIGAIL BRESLIN

Date of Birth: September 16, 1996

Following in the footsteps of her older brother, Spencer, Abigail Breslin did her first commercial for Toys "R" Us when she was just three years old. At five (she turned six during filming), she landed a lead role as Mel Gibson's daughter in the big budget Hollywood film Signs (2002).

Abigail then made guest appearances on the WB TV sitcom What I Like About You (starring Amanda Bynes) and CBS-TV's crime series Hack, both in October 2002, before filming a lead role in Raising Helen (2004) as Kate Hudson's youngest niece (Spencer plays her brother in the film). She has also filmed lead roles in the video Chestnut: Hero of Central Park (2005) and the feature film Keane (2006). For her work as an ordinary little girl who wants to enter a beauty pageant in Little Miss Sunshine (2006), she received her first Academy Award nomination.

Mostly recently, she provided a voice for the animated feature Rango (2011), starring Johnny Depp.

Known as Abby to her friends, Breslin lives in New York with her parents and two brothers.
