BEN WHISHAW
Date of Birth: October 14, 1980
Born in England, Ben Whishaw graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Spring 2003.
However, his acting experience began much earlier, as a member of the Bancroft Players Youth Theatre, followed by supporting roles in the films The Trench and Mauvaise Passé (both 1999), the title role in the 2001 feature My Brother Tom (for which he won a British Independent Film Award as Most Promising Newcomer) and a role as Sully in the mini-series Other People's Children (2000).
Since graduation he's played Spud in Enduring Love (2004) opposite Daniel Craig; Keith Richards in the biopic Stoned (2005) and a murderer in Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2007). On TV he played a regular role as Pingu in the TV comedy series Nathan Barley.
Whishaw has appeared on stage in London's West End at the National Theatre in His Dark Materials and The Seagull, as well as garnering rave reviews in the title role of Trevor Nunn's version of Hamlet at the Old Vic.
He also stars in the musical drama I'm Not There (2007) alongside Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett.
