WILL PATTON

Date of Birth: June 14, 1954

Will Patton is a creative and diverse performer whose chameleon-like quality allows him to play a wide variety of roles. He attended the North Carolina School of the Arts and also studied with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio and with Joseph Chaikin at the Open Theatre in New York.

While Patton was in New York, he amassed an impressive list of theatre credits. He has been honored with two Obie Awards for his work in What Did He See? at the Public Theatre and Sam Shepard's Fool For Love at the Circle Rep. His other stage appearances include Tourists and Refugees #2, for which he shared in an Obie for Best Ensemble, and a leading role in Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind. In all, Patton has appeared in over 40 off-Broadway plays.

When Patton began working in film, he also earned critical praise for his performances in several film festival hits, including The Paint Job (1992), In the Soup (1992), Midnight Edition (1993), Toll Booth and Care of the Spitfire Grill, which won the audience award at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Patton has impressed moviegoers with his performances ranging from the overzealous congressional aide in No Way Out (1987) to the sensitive and charming man in The Rapture (1991). Also on his resumé are the films, Copycat (1995), Fled (1996), The Spitfire Grill (1996), Inventing the Abbotts (1997), The Postman (1997), Armageddon (1998), and Entrapment (1999).
