CHRISTOPHER LLOYD

Date of Birth: October 22, 1938

You know him as the wacky Emmett Brown in Back to the Future (1985). You also know him from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and TV's Taxi (2004). Christopher Lloyd often plays the quirky, crazy and off-beat characters in films. Yet in real life, he is a shy, retiring individual who makes it a policy never to give interviews.

Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Lloyd began acting in summer stock when he was only 16. Later, he studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and appeared in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Harlot and the Hunted, The Seagull, Macbeth, In the Boom Boom Room, Cracks, As They Put Handcuffs on the Flowers, and King Lear, to name a few.

His first film appearance was in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), a film that won the Oscar for Best Film in 1975. Next, he made a guest appearance on Taxi (2004) and became one of the regular crew, along with his pal, Danny DiVito.

With his nutty persona now a trademark, Lloyd went on to play memorable characters such as "Reverend Jim Ignatowski", "Doc Brown", "Fester Addams" and "Colonel Kruge." He has even starred in a computer CD game called Toonstruck.

Lloyd has won three Emmy Awards for his television work as well as numerous awards for his theatrical roles. He is a delight for audiences and critics alike who love to be transported to the wild side by this gentle, rubber-faced maniac.
