Columbus Short Biography

COLUMBUS SHORT

Date of Birth: September 19, 1982

Born in Kansas City, Columbus Short relocated to Los Angeles when he was five years old and began working in youth theater, including a production of The Wizard of Oz. Short attended the Orange County School of the Arts before joining the Broadway tour of Stomp.

When he returned to Los Angeles, Short became an in-demand choreographer and tour director for pop superstars such as Britney Spears, Ashanti and Brandy before returning to acting.

He made his motion picture debut in the street dance film You Got Served (2004), playing a dancer. Roles on TV shows such as ER and Judging Amy followed, including two appearances as Tre, a member of the fictional boy band "Boyz 'n Motion" on That's So Raven.

In Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds (2005), Short played a soldier. His first substantial role came in the teen comedy Accepted (2006), opposite Justin Long. He filmed a starring role in Stomp the Yard (2007) before accepting a regular role in NBC's short-lived series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, starring Matthew Perry.

Short is divorced from his first wife, with whom he has a child.
