Dallas Roberts Biography

Houston native Dallas Roberts graduated from the esteemed Julliard School and after relocating to New York, he starred in a series of popular theatrical productions, including Burn This, alongside Edward Norton; Nocturne, which earned him a nomination for a Drama Desk Award; and A Number, opposite Sam Shepard. Roberts would have made his Broadway debut in the remake of Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie but he was replaced by Christian Slater before the production hit the big stage.

The recast may have been a minor setback but it didn't slow Roberts down too much. He soon began appearing in big films like the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line (2005) and 3:10 to Yuma (2007). He also began making his mark in television, with recurring roles on popular series like The L Word, Rubicon, and The Good Wife. In January 2012, he reunited with his Rubicon co-star James Badge Dale for Joe Carnahan's action flick The Grey, about a group of oil-rig roughnecks struggling to survive in the vicious Arctic.

Roberts is married to set designer and NYU professor Christine Jones. They have two sons together.
