Enrique Iglesias Biography

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS

Date of Birth: May 8, 1975

A world-renowned musical performer, Enrique Iglesias made his feature film debut in Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003). Born in Madrid, Spain to internationally-famous crooner Julio Iglesias and Filipina beauty Isabel Preysler, Enrique’s parents divorced when he was just four years old. He moved with his mother and siblings to the States when he was eight, and began writing music in his teens. When his first album debuted in 1996, it sold more than 6 million copies and earned him a Grammy award. His second album earned him Billboard’s Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards. In 1998, he won the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year award. Just a year later, actor Will Smith asked Iglesias for a song to be included on the Wild West Soundtrack. “Bailamos” went on to become a Number 1 hit.

He has released several more albums, both in Spanish and in English, which have sold more than 35 million copies worldwide. He has also performed as a singer on many television shows and has done concerts all over the world.
