Date of Birth: March 5, 1974
Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Miami, Eva Mendes was first a marketing major at California State Northridge before dropping out to pursue an acting career. An exotic beauty, she soon began to land roles in commercials and on television shows such as ER and Mortal Kombat: Conquest, as well as appearing in a small budget straight-to-video film called Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998). She continued to land small roles in films, gradually earning larger roles in bigger budget movies such as Exit Wounds(2001) starring Steven Seagal, Training Day (2001) starring Denzel Washington, and All About the Benjamins (2002), starring Ice Cube, with whom she'd worked in the TV movie The Disciples (1999).
She landed the leading role of Monica in the highly-awaited sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), then found herself working in films such as Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) alongside A-list stars such as Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas, as well as joining up with Denzel Washington again in Out of Time (2003), this time as his co-star, playing a detective who teams up with a police officer (Washington) to investigate a missing persons case. More recently, she's appeared in Ghost Rider (2007) with Nicolas Cage, The Other Guys (2010) with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg and Last Night (2011) with Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington.
Mendes loves interior designing and would consider doing it full time if she ever decides to quit acting. Other hobbies include hiking, biking, skiing, and mountain climbing.
