Evanna Meghan Naomi Lynch was born in Termonfeckin, Ireland. A huge Harry Potter fan, she convinced her father to fly her to London to audition for the role of Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Though she'd never acted professionally, she was chosen over 15,000 other young hopefuls through an open casting call. She received a phone call on January 23, 2006 to tell her she'd gotten the role and began filming less than a month later.
A vegetarian, Lynch made the radish earrings her character Luna Lovegood wears in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
