Frank Coraci Biography

FRANK CORACI

Date of Birth: February 3, 1966

Born and raised in New York, Frank Coraci studied at New York University and received his BFA in film from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988.

After graduation, Coraci's first job was directing travel documentaries. For his work, he traveled to over 35 countries to film landmarks such as The Great Barrier Reef, Ayers Rock and The Great Wall of China. These experiences would be of great benefit later on when he helmed the 2004 remake, Around the World in 80 Days (2004), starring Jackie Chan.

First however, Coraci directed and co-wrote the revenge thriller, Murdered Innocence (1995), which won Best Feature Film and Best Directorial Debut at the Long Island Film Festival. He then teamed with Adam Sandler for his next two films, The Wedding Singer (1998) and the waterboy (1998) before taking on his biggest budget feature to date ($110 million) with Around the World in 80 Days (2004), based on the book by Jules Verne.

Coraci has formed a production company, Spanknyce, which is currently developing a number of films.
