Born in Sydney, Australia, Jacki Weaver made her professional debut as Cinderella at Sydney's Philip Theatre while still a schoolgirl.
A highly respected stage and screen actor with a slew of industry awards, Weaver has starred in
many seminal Australian films including Stork, Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Removalists, Caddie, Squizzy Taylor and Cosi, while her television roles include landmark productions such as Water Under The Bridge, Trial By Marriage and The
Challenge.
Her stage portfolio includes more than 60 plays, ranging from lead roles in Blithe Spirit,
They're Playing Our Song, The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Born Yesterday,
The Real Thing, The Seagull and A Streetcar Named Desire to The Three Sisters, Joe Egg, The Sisters Rosenweig, After The Ball, Shadowlands and Death of a Salesman.
In 2005 Allen and Unwin published Weaver's best-selling autobiography Much Love, Jac. In 2011 she received her first Academy AWard nomination for her work in the motion picture Animal Kingdom (2010).
