Jesse Dylan Biography

JESSE DYLAN

Date of Birth: January 6, 1966

The son of legendary singer/songwriter Bob Dylan, Jesse Dylan grew up in New York and Los Angeles. He was always more interested in filmmaking than music, so unlike his younger brother, Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers, Jesse attended New York University and launched his directing career in Manhattan. He began by directing music videos for The Wallflowers, Tom Waits, Lenny Kravitz and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, as well as many others. He also directed numerous commercials for companies such as Suzuki, Coca-cola, Reebok, Doritos, Budweiser, Audi and Pepsi.

However, his dream was to work on films, so he moved to Los Angeles, where he directed his first feature, the moderately successful How High (2001). Dylan took over as director for American Wedding (2003), the third instalment of the successful American Pie movies. Dylan lives in Laurel Canyon with his wife and two children.
