JUSTIN CHATWIN
Date of Birth: October 31, 1982
Born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Justin Chatwin studied commerce at the University of British Columbia and in his spare time, took acting lessons. His first role was a bit part as a teenage fan in the motion picture Josie and the Pussycats (2001). The same year, Justin made guest appearances on Smallville and Mysterious Ways, and won the part of John Spencer in the TV miniseries Christy: A Change of Seasons and Christy: A New Beginning.
The following year, he was chosen to play Clauson in Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed miniseries Taken (2002), starring Dakota Fanning. Justin then played a supporting role in the TV movie The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie (2003) starring Gena Rowlands. After taking on a role in the USA network miniseries, Traffic (2004), Chatwin was named by Newsweek as one of their young stars on the rise. Ironically, he then played supporting roles in Taking Lives with Angelina Jolie and in SuperBabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004) with Jon Voight, Jolie's father. In April 2004, he filmed The Chumscrubber (2005), playing a high school drug dealer opposite Glenn Close.
Chatwin's big break came when he again had the chance to work with Spielberg and Fanning as Tom Cruise’s son in the blockbuster feature War of the Worlds (2005).
