KERRY WASHINGTON
Date of Birth: January 31, 1977
Born in The Bronx, New York, Kerry Washington graduated from The George Washington University's theater program in 1998. Her feature debut was a lead role in the award-winning indie film, Our Song (2000). Next, she starred opposite Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas in Save the Last Dance (2001), for which she won a Teen Choice Award for Best Breakout Performance.
Washington has also been seen in Bad Company (2002) starring Chris Rock and Sir Anthony Hopkins; The Human Stain (2003) opposite Nicole Kidman and Hopkins; The United States of Leland (2003) with Ryan Gosling and Kevin Spacey; Ray (2005) starring Jamie Foxx, The Last King of Scotland (2006) starring Forest Whitaker, For Colored Girls (2010) and A Thousand Words (2012). Most recently she appears in Tyler Perry Presents Peeples (2013).
In her spare time, Kerry is an active supporter of the Creative Coalition, a group dedicated to raising awareness of First Amendment Rights and support of arts in education and a new program called Adopt-A-Classroom in New York City.
