Martha Plimpton

The daughter of actors Shelley Plimpton and Keith Carradine, she was raised by her mother in New York after her unmarried parents split before she was even born. But her parents had certainly passed on the acting gene as Plimpton hooked up with a film-acting workshop group when she was only eight and landed her first TV commercial at 11—a controversial Calvin Klein jeans ad.
Although she's virtually grown up on screen, Plimpton retains a healthy perspective on the nature of fame, saying, "Just because you're famous doesn't mean that people value your opinion. In fact, more often than not, they think you're full of it."
