Matthew Lewis Biography

MATTHEW LEWIS

Date of Birth: June 27, 1989

Born in Yorkshire, England, Matthew Lewis was an avid Harry Potter fan long before he landed the pivotal role of Neville Longbottom at age 11 in the first movie, Harry Potter the Philosopher's Stone.

Matt began acting when he was just five years old, making his television debut in the British TV movie Some Kind of Life (1995). Guest appearances on series such as Dalziel and Pascoe, Where the Heart Is, City Central and Heartbeat followed. He also played a role in the TV movie This is Person: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper (2000) before auditioning for Harry Potter.

Matt has appeared in all eight Harry Potter films and in between films, played a reporter in the 2010 British movie The Sweet Shop.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing tennis, golf, soccer and watching movies.
