Nick Hurran Biography

NICK HURRAN

British-born director Nick Hurran began his career in television, with shows such as the BBC sitcom Telly Addicts and the hour-long drama Boon. His feature film debut was Remember Me? (1997), starring Brenda Blethyn. For his next film, Girls' Night (1998), starring Blethyn, Julie Walters and Kris Kristofferson, Hurran won a Silver Spire at the San Francisco International Film Festival and received a Golden Berlin Bear nomination at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Again working with Blethyn, he directed Plots with a View (2002), (later released in North America as Undertaking Betty) which won a BAFTA Award. Also starring in the film were Christopher Walken and Alfred Molina. Hurran made his American feature directorial debut with Little Black Book (2004), starring Brittany Murphy, Kathy Bates and Holly Hunter.

Other credits include the British telefilms Take a Girl Like You, Happy Birthday Shakespeare and Sailortown.
