STEVEN CULP
Date of Birth: December 3 1955
La Jolla, Californian Steven Culp, has successfully integrated film, television and stage
into a dynamic career. Born into a Navy-hardened family (both father and grandfather served),
Culp graduated from the College of William & Mary in Virginia and later studied English
Literature at The University of Exeter in England. He then pursued graduate studies in Theater
Arts & Acting at Brandeis University, where he developed a love for theater.
On stage, Culp is a two-time Dramalogue Award winner for his performance in Angels in America
and for his ensemble work in Raised in Captivity.
On television, Culp has had recurring roles on major TV hits such as JAG, The West Wing, and Desperate Housewives, and has appeared in guest-starring roles
on numerous series such as Chicago Hope, Profiler, Any Day Now, Touched By
An Angel and Diagnosis: Murder.
Among his many feature credits are Gross Anatomy (1989), Dead Again (1991),
Fearless (1993), James and the Giant Peach (1996), and Nurse Betty (2000).
Culp landed one of his largest roles in the film Thirteen Days (2000) in which he played
Robert Kennedy, alongside Kevin Costner and Bruce Greenwood. He re-teamed with Greenwood in the family film, Firehouse Dog (2007).
Culp and his wife Barbara have twins.
