TYLER GARCIA POSEY
Date of Birth: October 18, 1991
Born in Santa Monica, California, Tyler Garcia Posey began performing in commercials at the age of five. His father, actor/writer John Posey, brought Tyler with him on movie and television sets before the boy could even walk.
Tyler made his feature film debut with a small role in Men of Honor (2000), starring Robert De Niro. His first big break came at the age of eight, when he landed a role alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Collateral Damage (2002). The feature film, originally due to come out in 2001, was postponed and came out early in 2002 instead. At nine, he landed a recurring lead role on the TV series Doc. The series, filmed in Toronto, features Billy Ray Cyrus as Doc Cassidy, a Montana country doctor who ends up in New York City. Posey plays Raul Garcia, a young boy who is orphaned in the series pilot, but is taken under Cassidys wing. In 2001, Posey received a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series Supporting Young Actor.
During a break in filming from Doc, Tyler played Jennifer Lopezs son in the feature Maid in Manhattan (2002). He then returned to Toronto to continue his role on Doc, for PAX TV.
Tyler lives with his parents and two brothers in California. He loves punk rock, singing, writing music and lyrics, all kinds of sports including skateboarding and roller blading, and watching movies.
