Dark, gritty, well written and expertly acted... not the standard Hollywood fare and better for it,

It wasn`t the cheerful movie but it was well acted and kept you thinking till the end. Great twist at the end, pretty depressing, but an okay movie.

They talked so fast some times at important parts that it was hard to keep up and some connections had to be thought about after the movie was over. I only looked at my watch once and that was close to the end of the movie. So I`d say it was alright but I could have waited for it to come out on video.

Wait or the video..slow, but interesting enough to keep your interest..

Narc is by far the best police drama since "The French Connection". In an era of mindless Hollywood nonsense, it is so refreshing to watch a film that doesn`t take the audience for granted. From the opening sequence to the incredibly profound ending, this movie finally captures what so many "gritty cop movies" have tried in the past. You actually care for these guys and are worried about how it is going to end up for both of them. The excessive violence isn`t needed but it doesn`t, not at any point, take away from the struggle that people in law enforcement go through every day. Liotta should win the oscar for the best performance of the year
