I went into this movie thinking it would be terrible, but I was surprised by it. Nightmare had it's flaws, but I think that the essence of the movie was there and it was equally creepy. The acting wasn't so bad either, which I was expecting to be just terrible. Overall, not half bad.
micheal bay you suck!!!!!!!!!!!!
1, 2, Freddy's gonna bore you, 3, 4, rent the orig-in-al!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...No nightmares, I slept like a baby through this time waster.
People should understand by now that everything Michael Bay touches is pure garbage. He specializes in slow-motion boob filming, anything beyond that is too complex for him.
this has to be the biggest dissapointment this year. What happened, Michael Bay?
Jackie Earl Haleys take on Freddy is dark and scary!!! A well crafted movie. If any one likes the nightmare movies see this!!!
If you like nightmare on elm street its going to be hard to remake a classic. With that in mind this remake actually kept a lot of the classic scenes that make the original great. Compared to the latest additions of Friday 13, and Halloween, Nightmare on elm street entertained the new generation of horror while keeping my generation happy.
Its OK. Freddy not that scary. The creepy factor that Robert England brought to the original is missing. Wait for rental.
I found it spooky, and I was expecting it to be not that great. Freddy was actually supposed to be a pedophile in the original too, but the writer changed it because of news reports at the time. Overall, it was worth seeing it.
The only scary thing about this movie is how boring it is. Rent the original.
There's only one Nightmare on Elm Street, and this aint it! 1 star.
Great movie def worth the money although I like the original freddy character better the new guy was pretty good.
A movie that had so much opportunities to make it better than the original, but instead it offered nothing new and it's quite similar to Friday The 13th! Even the endings were exactly the same and predictable! All the scary scenes were not scary because of Freddy, but rather due to the jumped scare sounds made by film editors. I am not blaming the director Samuel for this one, but rather I believe it is Michael Bay's fault for ruining the franchise. I am sorry, I am just disappointed to see that there's not that much stuff that excited and scared me.
garbage.
very very bad movie
Doesn't even compare to the original. And for everyone who has said to watch the original again because he was a pedophile who got released cause of a legal loop hole, they would be mistaken. Freddy was a mass murderer of children in the original who was not convicted because of a legal technicality and that died at the hands of vigilante justice (the parents). He was not painted as a pedophile.
Personally Freddy was great, was different but in its own way just great. It's the damn Teen talentless actors that make the cheesy scenes personally. Everyone talks about it not being scary, but thats because we grew up watching scary movies... Nothing out there is gonna give me a bump in my night(Pardon the expression) but they still try and make it entertaining.
Let me first say I am huge fan of the original Nightmare. This is a different take on the story, and on Freddy. I went into it not expecting very much (it being a Mike Bay movie in all), but it was pretty god. I turned off my inner critic and just sat back and enjoyed it.
PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY! See 'Gunless' or 'Date Movie', but NOT this movie! It sucks. I did not jump out of my seat once. Everything was too predictable. Just a bunch of middle class kids that get killed in bloody ways and that's it. Sucks!
such a stupid movie! and im so disappointed with AMC! They let parents come in with little kids..it clearly says 18A..shouldn't they be checking IDs
Didn't work for me, wrapping in a backstory that didn't seem to matter.
Previews had made this look good and the dream sequences throughout were decent. That's where it stoops. Nothing but hype. If I were Wes Craven or Robert Englund, I'd be pissed. They turned Freddy from a scary errie, whitty ghoul, into a creepy pedofile burn victim. This Kruger was very dull in comparison to the original. Slow monotone voice of Jackie Earl didn't give chills, but rather bored to tears. This remake has nothing on the original. Way to screw up a great franchise.
great movie, better than the original in all ways except it was not the original and it did not have the depp death scene in it. but all in all this movie was amazing and the new freddy is just as bad ass as the original
Was Awsome, Freddy is back, was an awsome movie, recommend anyone who is a nightmare on elm street fan or a fan of horror movies should defenetely go see it.
wait for rental
I thought it was a very good remak
It's a pretty good movie. But come on let's get a little more gore in a 18A movie! If the rating is that high already why hold back! That was a little disappointing.
A Complete let down. 1 star.
Wait for the rental
NOT SCARY AT ALL just gross lol
Ok
This movie was a great retelling of a clasic horror movie. Two thumbs up and sure it wasnt scary but was is now a days?
Not bad, good Freddy but why the hell did they turn him into a child molester, totally ruined the story. And considering what they can do with special effects now the movie was not what it could have been.
great movie, this movie set a new standard for what a remake can do. this freddy was very dark and was actually scary, they made him the way was craven intended him to be. and to everyone who loved the old one but didn't like this one cause freddy was a pedophile, watch the original again cause he was a convicted pedophile who got off cause of a legal loop hole in the original. but all in all a fantastic movie that did justice to the original and proved that yes you can make a good remake
Awesome movie, better than the original in every way, only way the original was better was because it was the original and Johnny Depp's death scene. They made freddy the way Wes Craven originally planned him to be. He was supposed to be very dark and evil, not a one line wise cracking comedian! And for everyone who complains that he was a pedophile in this movie, watch the original cause thats what he was a pedophile who got released cause of a legal loop hole. Anyone who dosen't like that part of the new one but loved the old one, throw yourself infront of a bus or play in traffic! But yeah this movie tottaly did justice to the original and and this Freddy was every bit as bad ass as the o
A nightmare on Elm Street (Remake) is a 90 minute movie that feels 88 minutes too long.
Not very good.
So bad, it might be good.
I loved Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy he was one scary dude Awsome job as Freddy Krueger One of The Best Horror Movies I Have Ever seen I am so buying this on DVD
I saw this movie last night. It was alright.
Crap. 1 star.
a lot of people could play Jason, but Robert Englund is the Only person that should play Freddy. The kills were not creative,Freddy wasn't scary or cool.Wait for rental if at all
The amazing thing about this remake is how boring it is. The trailer looked amazing, but the movie is so dull, we couldn't wait for it to end.
The best bits are taken directly from the orignal nightmare movie, the rest sucks. This is a rental.
Not going to lie it was actually good i own all the originals but to compare to the first one they are 2 totally different movies and thats why i think this one is better because they went for a more serious look he was actually pretty funny but you took him alot more serious and freddy should have recieved a little bit more screen time. Guaranteed sequel
THIS WAS NOT EVEN SCARY! I TRIED SO HARD NOT TO FALL ASLEEP!
A depressingly oily remake. If I wanted to see a horror movie about a child-molesting monster I'd rent This Is It.
Great remake!
Why would anyone think this would be good when the original was crap to begin with?!
