 5/5 - Masterpiece on all levels. On a scale not seen before. Believe the "hype" - it lives up to it on every level. A must see. You are drawn in and the movie never lets you go.
Technically, it is an amazing movie that sets new standards in movie making methodology. It is very spectacular to watch. On the surface the storylin follows a classic peace loving good guys vs warmonger bad guys theme in a futuristic setting with various novel nuances. On a deeper level, the underlying message is the glorification gaia worshipping environmental paganism. It definitely does not have the weighty undertones that go along with the great fantasy classics such as LOTR and the Chronicles of Narnia. If the story had true depth, I would have given it 5 stars.
As long as you are looking for stimulation and enterntainment (rather than deep meanings), you will thoroughly enjoy t Cameron has done it again! One of the most immersive movies you will see....not just special effects, but characters you care about and a good, thought-provoking story. Movie making at its best!!!! Finally, a movie worthy of the comment "Most Excellent!!!" So Amazing!!!!!! I loved this movie, i hope he wins for best picture..I want to see it again. Fantastic 3D movie from start to finish. 5/5
AWESOMW!!! Incredible effects. Story is not as strong as Lord of the Rings, but effects are spectacular.
Someone said Star Wars was better, are you kidding, the first 2 Star Wars were good (but a joke compared to LOTR) and the rest looked like a bad MacDonalds commercial!
**Avatar is just simply great!** WoW!!!! This is the most spectacular movie I have watched in years. It is phenomenal and left me stunned and wordless. What a beatiful creation. I must watch it minimum 3 times....man what a brilliant work. It is indeed turning point in movie world. People all I can say is, it is a must watch movie with full family in 3D, and your $$ will not be wasted, you will get back each and every penny. A history has been written in the movie world.
