Absolutely stunning, everything in the movie seem like it just jumped out of the head of fantasy genious which is Tim Burton, an instant classic.

This was an amazing movie...stuck very close to the original but also added a few new surprises...its good it didnt copy the old one..what would be the point in seein it? If he did a flip for his grand entrance how amazing would that be?..like c`mon think about it...its a remake its gotta be different or it`ll just be boring...5 stars Burton! You rock!

Most over-rated movie of 2005. This was a visually stunning movie that was a delight for the the eye. However, that`s as far as the movie goes. Tim Burton`s take on this classic novel had great expectations, and it could be why I left the theatre dissapointed. Nonetheless, I couldn`t help but feel that the humour was very mediocre. The characters almost all felt like they were puppets of a fun house. The movie seemed to have missed that element of recognizing with the characters as the novel and original movie helped you feel. The movie became too "plastic" and continuous flashbacks by Depp`s character became very redundant. Jonny Depp

The show was an absolute disappointment! The oompa lumpa`s were very annoying and mundane. Additionally the singing lyrics were too difficult to understand. Willy Wonka was not the lovably and magical character that you were expecting, but instead was a masked, "weird" acting character. Where was Willy Wonka`s grand entrance which was supposed to be accompanied with a flip? The movie did answer questions that were lingering from the older version which was the only positive about the show. This show simply does not do justice to the older version.

My elder sister was a fan of the original and she felt nostalgic towards it, even read the book years before, therefore she wish to see the remake. In fact this is not a sugary bubblegum remake but a much better film, much more mature for both the kids and the adults. The acting is suberb and the true stars are Freddie Highmore, Johnny Depp and the Oompa-Loompas! In fact, I believe the Oompa-Loompas were the best part! This film was amazing. The only reason I went to see the film was for my sister, the film was never on my must-see movie list, but I`m glad I went! Tim Burton has done it once again! i really enjoyed i was glad johnny depp put the creepy back into willy wonka because only someone really obsessed with chocolate would make that factory. Tim burton is so weird and he rules he gets it.....terrific film i will watch anything by timburton with johnny depp. go see it it is fresh and i really like the songs and the ompa lompas.

This movie is way better than the original. Johnny Depp really knows how to play the character of Willy Wonka. I`m glad that Tim Burton stuck closely to the book while still showing his creative side.

it was a good movie but if you`re expecting anything like the original your in for a big surprise! jonny depp did another great preformance. the only thing is there is a bit of creepyness in it. willy wonka isn`t as loving as he was in the original.

This movie was INCREDIBLE!!! I was just in awe. I went in thinking it would be pretty good but not beat the original, and came out thinking it was way better! Like there were parts that pissed me off cause Burton cut the scene or changed it, but I really like it. My only big criticism is the Oompa Loompas. It was the same person! They didn`t have orange skin and green hair, and the songs they sang weren`t as good as the original. But it was awesome. Worth seeing!

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!! Johnny Depp proves once again that he is one of the greatest actors of his generation.... it`s just a shame that he was overlooked for all those years!

OKay. I was skeptical at first because it looked kinda weird. But I am a huge fan of Tim Burtons work and Johnny Depp so I had faith in them to make it work. People, let me just say it was a great movie, very creative, and Tim Burton made it his own. Sure it`s not the classic one with Gene Wilder, but its a great movie. Even thought the Oompa Loompa`s had new songs that were weird/different (but kewl). Johnny Depp was hilarious and awesome as always, the kid who played Charlie was so cute in this, and there were many new parts which I enjoyed like the whole willy`s father thing. Good Job!! I will definitly be buying this one.

omg this movie is the best ive seen this year!! the ending is WAY better then the original and i laughed alot more in this one. I didnt like that they took out the fizzy liftin drinks but oh well it was still the greatest movie ever.. Tim Burton is a genius!

Excellent remake! Johnny Depp is spectacular as Willy Wonka (watch for facial expressions and the little things that he does). The children were an excellent cast who play out each golden ticket winner`s personality to its fullest. While I wished that the remake would align more to the original story, the "extra" scenes were not disappointing. Lots of colour, lots of fun to watch -- but don`t expect an oompa loompa song like the older movie!

I particularly enjoyed Willy`s childhood flashbacks as well as Charlie`s home life. The Ooompa Loompa`s kind of got on my nerves after a while -- and the group I was with (including myself) could barely make out the words they were singing. Pretty decent movie. Enjoyed several parts of the original better though.

there are a lot of remakes coming to theatres this summer. But only one movie which manages to be better than the original and that is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If I had five hands I`d give it five thumbs up.

The 1971 classic was WAY BETTER. Tim Burton was the wrong person to direct this new Film. Jpnny Depp did a great job like always, but this movie lacked a lot.

The kid that played Charlie was good, Depp was just Ok,( does not surpass GeneWilder) the oompa loompas steal every scene they are in but I could hardly make out what they were singing. Even my kids said the liked many parts in the original better

Just as expected from a Tim Burton, Johnny Depp colaberation. Full of fantasy, very little reality and very entertaining. Will make room on the shelf for the DVD when released.

I thought Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was FANSTASTIC. Tim Burton did an excellent job of capturing the book. Johnny Depp was brillent. He`s an amazing actor and he was so perfect for Willy Wonka. I loved this movie so much. I highly recommend everyone to see it. It has some funny parts and just some of the faces Willy makes.

Excellent proformance and directing, yet this is definitely not as much a family movie as I was originally lef to believe. The film`s message, which is quite clear, is far too cruel and questionable at best. To call children "rotten"? Geezz... Now we are talking about some serious twisted mind...I think this story suits more to the self-satisfying parents much more than to any kids.

this movie was the best! at my theater that i saw the movie every1 was clapping at parts or awing cuz it was so amazing and heartfelt. johnny depp is an amzing amazing actor, he is hilarious and knows how to make sum1 laugh ALOT. To be honest, the movie was a little creepy. What was with the michael jackson reference to willy wonka`s character? Though I admit johnny depp and the little boy were brilliant, this movie was definitely not for a child. Too disturbing and twisted. Entertaining nonetheless.

Amzinly entertaning, funny, and suprising, Johnny depp is no doubt one of the greatest actors of our generation...not only in this movie, i own every movie his made (cuz im a die-hard fan)and he is the life of every movie he does!!! his presence just makes u want 2 keep watching. What can i say? i went into the movie thinking it would just be another one of Tim Burton`s "weird" but great movies...but this was so much more. The Movie was Overall Amazing and Wonderful to watch. I`m 16, and saw the movie with my 6 year old sister and 18 year old brother. My grandparents also saw it earlier today and we all loved it. A Delight to Watch.
