LOVED IT!! great performances and a crazy story
If you didn't know this was a Tarantino movie before seeing it, you would know after, as it has the Tarantino signature. EXCELLENT movie, will not dissapoint!
A new twist to classic western movies. Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz are fantastic! It's incredible how Quentin Tarantino can show how ridiculous slavery was - unsettling at times - yet he manages to make us laugh in some scenes, especially when he's not taking himself too seriously imitating classic flicks. In my opinion, this is the best movie of the year.
Being a Tarantino movie, I expected the violence; however, the violence and the practical use of the "N" word, didn't prevent the movie from being wonderfully entertaining.
It is a Quentin movie, so what do you expect. I thought over all it was a great movie.
Really good movie - good story. There's friendship, bravery, humour, love, tenderness, and ... violence.
One awesome-hell-of-a-flick! Funny, Tarantino violence !
OMG LOVED this movie ..Quentin alllll the way.. This movie has a bit of everything but the acting was superb!!So for all you commenters that think its to violent or graphic and you hated that about the movie what were you thinking you would get at a Quentin movie..especially when you are comparing it to his other movies..SO you knew before going it would be like that..So let me repeat this is a fantastic movie go see for yourself..be prepared for the grafic blood scenes, the language, a bit of comedy,etc...
A good mother****ing movie that any ****** would enjoy seeing.
I loved this movie. I definitely going to see it again. It was amazing how the director was able to insert humour in a serious topic.
GRUESOME
Best movie I've seen in a very long time. For 2.75 hours the time flew by. This movie will win oscars for sure!!
Great fun. Great Tarantino flick
Fantastic movie! very dramatic, amazing story.. this is a MUST see!!
Lots of action .... very good movie.
The wonderful story line was completely ruined by gratuitous violence. Really people, is that what this world has come to. Do we need to see a man ripped apart by dogs, people graphically tortured and so on to get entertained? Shame on everyone involved with this sick ass movie. The issue of slavery deserves more respect than this.
I guarantee in March/2014 the following will be said, "and the OSCAR for best supporting actor in the male catigory goes to,... ...Samual L. Jackson". GAURANTEE IT!!!
unfortunately , a typical tarantino movie . all over the place and way too long. with this cast , you would have expected a good movie. maybe a better writer and director would have saved this mess.
This was the funniest movie that I can remember seeing. Tarantino combines the talents of Foxx, Waltz, DiCaprio and Jackson into the perfect ensemble that results in an instant classic. This movie is gripping in its depiction of slavery in U.S. but counters it with such hilarity that you leave the theater with a completely unique experience, which is rare in today's multi-trilogy cookie cutter movie making scene. Each cast member adds so much rich acting ability that you feel their pain, their sorrow, their motivations and you come to love each character. To be able to tackle such a serious topic with such taste and humor only goes to show the high caliber of film making that is characteristi
amazing. just f**king amazing
Same basic Tarantino formula. Very polarizing evil characters that everyone loves to hate and a violent bloodbath at the end. They should have just shaken hands...
Violent, excessive, race-infused homage to spaghetti westerns with a nod to other spoofs such as Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles. Entertaining, fun, over-the-top and ultimately low-brow.
Another Quentin Classic!
Very well done. Not sure what all the complaining about the language and the use of certain words. Not done for shock value at all but seemed to fit the times of the setting. Highly recommend seeing it in the theatre to get the full experience and audience reactions.
Amazing...wish it could hsve been longer.
As I was saying... I wish the movie had been longer and included clips of horse riding training, elocution lessons, reading-writing lessons and more shooting training for Django. Then it would have made it more Rocky-like. As it was, he didn't overcome enough obstacles to maximize my empathy for him.
Much smoother transitions and normal looking movie, not the skippy scene-to-scene transitions which gave the Kill Bill's that characteristic "different" story motion. Normal time line, normal pace. I think the "fat" some people talked of was the Italian "spaghetti" stylee he added here and there. Me, I’m glad it had a bit of style and taste. But the horses were too small, too groomed, too well behaved. Petting farm pansies. Esp. Django's cute little mare - as if. No snorting twitchy frothing wet ridden steeds. Horse charge and mass ride were very cool though. Unlike others reviewers, I wish the movie had been longer and included clips of horse riding training, elocution lessons, Rea
Typical Quentin Tarantino - very funny, very violent, very well done by Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx. They were a perfect pairing. There is so much dark comedy and blood and guts that you have to laugh. Brilliant!!!!!
for a QT movie, this is one of his best of all. showcasing absurdities of brutalities of black slavery by south US white folks in extreme gut-wrenching 'what if' cruelty scenarios, told in an action-western w/ a pair of anti-heroes. yes, it's fiction, and meant to serve as a 'let's-hope-it-never-happens', even if it never happened as depicted. it was brutal, gruesome, graphically very violent with lots of blood and splashing fleshy bits (yeeowch), and plenty of tension/irony an comic relief. C-Waltz definitely at his best and carried much of the pace and humour. was a very physical painful story to play out for all characters and esp. J-Foxx. enjoyed it immensely. worth the see.
Tarantino's best work since Reservoir Dogs.
If you understand and love QT movies, you will love this. Plus seeing Samuel Jackson working under QT after more than a decade was amazing, all characters were brilliant, with the best being Chrisoph Waltz, unbelievable actor. ***Also, Spaghetti western fans will recognize ENNIO MORICONE, the legendary composer who did music for Client Eastwood's unforgettable westerns. At 84, his background scores took time back to the 1960's westerns. Bravo
OMG...i was so offended by the use of the N word.
makes me want to say n**ga all over the place. NOT. People it's a movie and it was hella good. So stop btiching about the use of the word n**ga.
Great for a QT movie. Some sceens were difficult to watch. Must have been hard for the actors to use the "N" word so freely.
Very entertaining!!!
QT what were you thinking ? And almost three hours.... Cut this to 2 maybe
Pretty good
Was expecting something very good but it missed the mark..., too bad
Lies.... This was disappointing
One of the best computer animated films in some time! Johnny Depp, as the titular creature, is just adorable! Don't miss this one if you can.
Well worth the price of admission.
